This past week I had someone imply that the work artist done is over prices because they sell stuff they created for free. So here is the cash cost payout for my latest oil painting "Trucking the Notch" canvas $32, paint and medium $27, 4 hours of studio time in Manchester $14.50 per hr. = $58. That's $117 direct out of pocket coast not including anything artist time and effort nor travel expense associated with the work. That's all predicated on the hope that he/she will find someone who would like the work and want to buy it. In the meantime it is like inventory in a warehouse taking up space. Warehouse space equals storage expense. Not sure if I agree with this persons summary.

Peter Corriveau Never doubt YOUR value as an artist Dave! We all value different things, and that's okay. Just don't ever feel like you have to justify your price for any work. The person meant for each of your creations will value them far beyond the price tag.

Aaron Miller People and their intellectual laziness is really frustrating. That you have to explain even a tiny shred of how life actually works is rather ridiculous. Keep creating Dave Holmander-Bradford. At our house, we tell time with art, drink from art, eat off of art and sit on art. Yay, art.
